Associate Director/Director, New Product Commercialization
Ohana Biosciences is seeking a resourceful, strategic Associate Director/Director, New Product Commercialization to support the development of cutting-edge medical products in the field of reproductive health.
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this position will play an essential role in providing commercial input and guidance to the pipeline of products at Ohana covering reproductive health. The AD/Dir. of New Product Commercialization will be empowered to help develop our evolving Reproductive Health Strategy, including the commercial strategy for early stage development programs and external business development opportunities. You will be a vital contributor to our inspiring, bold mission to create life-changing products that will increase the success rate of assisted reproductive technologies; decrease the risk of disease transmission from father to offspring; and provide novel non-hormonal, reversible, long-lasting male contraception.
In a dynamic, growing company environment, you will be able to lead and support other strategic initiatives, including managing launch preparations and market research to support the building of commercial infrastructure for the company. The role requires a highly resourceful individual who is a self-starter and nimble with strong strategic skills. This role is highly cross-functional, working across research, development, and commercial in a small, dynamic company, and requires someone who has exceptional team building skills.
What You’ll Do
Develop the commercial strategy for early stage development programs
Conduct and refine market assessments to gain a clear understanding of current and future unmet needs and market dynamics
Provide an early and objective view of the unmet needs, target profile, value proposition, market potential, competitive landscape, and commercial risks associated with pipeline assets in early development phases
Translate key insights from scientific experts (internal R&D colleagues + external opinion leaders) into clear, actionable strategies for the franchise
Contribute to the long-term commercial strategy of the franchise
Lead commercial assessments that will support the design and execution of a commercial infrastructure for launch
Lead the assessment and quantification of business opportunities for Ex-US regions and provide recommendations to the executive team as it relates to potential partnerships
Represent commercial on pipeline program teams and provide key inputs during research phase and planning for development
Contribute to the near-term commercial launch preparations for the Fertility franchise, including launch planning, managing market research projects, and strategic analysis
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., business, chemistry, biology); M.B.A. or PharmD preferred
5+ years pharmaceutical industry experience or related health care
At least 2 years in commercial roles (brand marketing, sales, market research/analytics, new product planning, managed markets)
Strong background in designing and executing market research projects and incorporating into strategic recommendations
Strong understanding of US healthcare environment (regulatory, payer market dynamics, HCP practices, hospital and other institutional settings)
Strong analytical skills, including experience with developing and testing assumptions, developing forecasts, determining commercial value, assessing risk, and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative research
Demonstrated ability to understand and translate clinical/scientific information
Demonstrated ability to work across functions
Demonstrated ability to lead with and without authority
Experience working in high growth, collaborative organizations
Demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely communicate with and prepare presentations for CEO and senior leadership team
Team oriented, highly motivated, execution focused with strong work ethic, ability to thrive in a high growth, entrepreneurial environment
