Senior Director of Program and Portfolio Management

Ohana Biosciences is hiring for an experienced Senior Director of Program and Portfolio Management.

The position will report to the Chief Operating Officer of Ohana Biosciences. The Senior Director, Program and Portfolio Management will establish the Program and Portfolio Management function at Ohana Biosciences and provide the strategic capabilities to facilitate portfolio management and prioritization as well as the project management skills to plan and drive progress on critical R&D programs and launch preparedness. The Senior Director, Program and Portfolio Management will work across functions to develop portfolio strategies and operational plans, ensuring cross-functional alignment. This position is based in Cambridge, MA.

Ohana is pioneering a new frontier in reproductive medicine.  Built upon a world-leading understanding of sperm biology, Ohana has created a best-in-class proprietary platform with broad applications across reproductive medicine. We are developing field-defining new products to improve sperm quality and function to address infertility, prevent inherited disease, and produce a long-acting, reversible, non-hormonal male contraceptive. 

What You’ll Do

  • Drive evolution of portfolio strategy by working with the executive team, project leads and cross-functional teams

  • Ensure alignment of portfolio strategy with asset and commercial strategies

  • Lead and coordinate portfolio prioritization and annual portfolio planning process

  • Lead operational planning and implementation of R&D program plans and corporate initiatives 

  • Develop and manage detailed project plans for critical programs across all functions including R&D, manufacturing, commercial and G&A functions

  • Lead cross-functional program teams and develop integrated project timelines across the portfolio

  • Act as “subject matter expert” providing ready knowledge of program milestones, key deliverables, interdependencies, and critical decisions

  • Define organizing frameworks, workflows, and communication forums to establish strategic and robust portfolio and program planning processes across the organization

  • Facilitate scenario planning and issue/risk evaluation and management; surface and drive resolution of key issues

  • Establish KPIs, metrics, and dashboards to assess and communicate the status of key initiatives

  • Ensure alignment of operational plans and execution with corporate goals

  • Foster a positive team culture of ownership and accountability including continuous evaluation, recognition and process improvement 

What Skills You’ll Bring

  • Advanced degree in life sciences or business preferred, or Bachelor’s degree with relevant work experience

  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry including 5+ years of program management

  • Proven track record of coordinating across multiple teams and driving action and accountability and facilitate conflict resolution

  • Knowledge and proven application of project management best practices

  • Experience working on programs that bridge product development and commercialization  

  • Business and financial acumen
