Head of Information Technology

Ohana Biosciences is seeking a seasoned IT leader with superior interpersonal and managerial skills to support a fast-growth organization committed to transforming the field of reproductive health.

You will lead the IT function at Ohana and be responsible for all aspects of information technology, including driving the selection and implementation of new internal and external customer-facing systems and technologies, optimizing internal systems architecture and coordinating desktop support, proactively managing information security, and supporting Ohana’s data science team with excellent research informatics solutions. You will report to the Vice President of Finance and will be part of Ohana’s Extended Leadership Team.

What You’ll Do

  • Be responsible for all strategic planning/architecture and operations for external/customer-facing and internal information technology

  • Create a plan for all information technology implementation and prioritization, including mobile applications and product-related databases, master data management optimization, CRM, ERP and collaboration tools, and data security

  • Ensure all systems are compliant with all existing and emerging data security requirements, including HIPAA, CCPA, FDA and similar standards

  • Establish IT roadmap for international expansion including data warehousing and GDPR compliance

  • Embrace responsibility for delivering all projects on time, within scope and budget with high quality results

  • Interface and coordinate with any relevant functional groups to ensure timely execution of any IT implementations, including anticipation and identification of risks and implementation of mitigations and contingency plans

  • Drive IT RFP process, vendor selection, procurement, and relationship management

  • Enable effective communication and change management within the company and across vendors to align IT with corporate strategy and scientific/business needs

  • Own the IT budget and partner with functional leaders to ensure budgets are realistic and anticipate business needs appropriately

  • Act as Data Privacy Officer for Ohana, make sure that all internal teams are aware of data security and privacy compliance requirements, and ensure compliance auditing and controls are implemented and maintained

  • Build and leverage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders across Ohana with the goal of proactively addressing IT and info security needs

  • Hire, manage, and develop an internal IT team as well as manage IT contractors and service providers

What You’ll Bring

  • 10+ years of demonstrated leadership in an IT systems role with at least 5 years’ experience in life sciences

  • Passion for delivering IT solutions that your constituents LOVE and ENJOY working with!

  • Outstanding leadership and management skills with an integrated view of business and scientific issues, and a demonstrated passion for participating in high growth, high energy companies

  • Ability to manage a team while also working independently and successfully in a matrix environment, prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, integrate cross-functional issues and balance competing priorities effectively

  • Experience in a wide array of information systems, including mobile applications, databases, cloud applications and storage, data privacy and security in healthcare, and information security

  • Experience implementing IT systems within an FDA-compliant Quality Management System

  • Agility: Ability to work in a high energy organization with evolving goals and deliverables, merging priorities from across the company

  • Results Orientation: you are self-motivated, curious,  and able accomplish goals with minimal oversight

  • Communication: You are praised for your ability to communicate and work well with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and cultures
